Fall in Arizona🍂?! Yes it does happen although most might argue we are usually fashionably late! Even though the temperatures outside might not reflect the brisk autumn mornings, there are many ways we can get into the fall spirit and prepare our homes to be sold during the fall!
1. Tidy up the yard and landscaping 🌳
o Trim overgrown bushes and trees
o Make sure all weeds are cleaned up and pathway is clear of debris
o Get rid of dead bushes and trees, they give the impression you do not take care of your property!
o Rake your leaves (ok this one might be for our northern Arizona friends!)
2. Create autumn curb appeal 🌻
o Bring in new bushes full of autumn hues.
o Plant fresh flowers in pots around the front porch and back patios! Marigolds and chrysanthemums bring in a beautiful fall color and give the porch that warm autumn feeling.
o Check exterior of your home for any areas that are in need of paint, stucco repair, etc. Ensuring that your home the best possible first impression is a must!
3. Clean your windows
o This one might seem obvious but it is very noticeable to buyers when you have a lot of natural light in your home and your windows are showing signs of neglect! Make sure you clean both interior and exterior and all screens to showcase all thenatural light within your home!
o Don’t skip the rest of your house! Much like we do “spring cleaning”, do a sweep of your home to check for clutter that has built up over the summer months. Maybe its bins of summer yard toys or summer landscaping tools such as lawnmowers, make sure these items get back to their spot so your home showcases its best autumn attributes!
4. Add a touch of autumn décor 🎃
o Add a welcome doormat with autumn flair! People do notice the welcome doormat and it shows potential buyers they are welcome into your home.
o Think about décor with fall colors, an accent pillow or throw are the perfect way to bring some fall colors inside your home without completely changing your furniture.
o Scented candles! Bring the warm scents of fall into your home, cinnamon, warm pumpkin spice, and crisp apple cider are some popular scents that will make your potential buyers feel comfortable and allow them to envision themselves in your home during these holidays.
o Seller note….keep your decorations tactful! While your family may enjoy and embrace the seasons, make sure to keep your decorations neutral and appealing to the masses!
